10 Of The Most Expensive Cars In The World

Owning a car is a dream for most of us. With apps like Ola and Uber ensuring we can get a cab at our doorstep within a matter of minutes, owning a car has lost its novelty. But, there are some cars we would surely want to own. If only we could afford them. Here are 10 of the most expensive cars in the world right now:

10. Aston Martin Valkyrie ($2.6 million)

There aren't many lists on which a $3.2 million Aston Martin would be among the cheaper cars. But, this one is. The Valkyrie is a hybrid electric sports car and has a top speed of 250 mph for the track version.

The road version will be a little slower but should still be well over the 200 mph mark. More importantly, there are only 25 track versions of this car being manufactured and all of them have already been sold out. There are 125 road versions too, but chances are you won't be able to get your hands on one of them either.

9. Ferrari LaFerrari FXX-K ($2.7 million)

You might think it's strange that Ferrari is making such an early entry on this list but it's also only one of two automakers with 2 cars in the list. 40 FXXs were manufactured between 2015 and 2017 and their top speed is 217 mph.

It has a K in the name because it uses a KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) to help maximise performance kind of like the F1 cars of today. Getting behind the wheel of this one would certainly be a delight.

8. Bugatti Chiron ($2.9 million)

The first thing you're going to notice about this car is the top speed, 261 mph. After all, what else do you look at a Bugatti for? They made 200 of these cars and they were all sold out even before manufacturing began.

There is a Chiron Sport currently in production and it should be made available by the end of this year. It costs an additional $400,000 but we're sure it will be worth it. If you have the cash to splash, though.

7. Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio ($3 million)

This car was designed as a tribute to former Ferrari chairman, Sergio Pininfarina. It has a top speed of 199 mph which is not going to raise any eyebrows on this list, but the exclusivity it offers and its price tag certainly will.

6. Mansory Vivere Bugatti Veyron ($3.4 million)

The only modified car on this list, the Mansory Vivere Veyron is here for one reason and one reason only, there are just two of them in the world. You will find upgrades to the interior, body parts and engine. No wonder it costs double of what a regular Bugatti Veyron did.

It goes without saying that it will be near impossible to get your hands on one of these cars even if you have the $3.4 million to spare.

5. W Motors Lykan Hypersport ($3.4 million)

This is the first supercar to come out of the Middle East and you will probably remember it from 'Fast & Furious 7' which is why it makes it to our list. Okay, its $3.4 million has something to do with it too. The car has a top speed of 245 mph.

The headlights of this car has jewels embedded in them according to the buyer's preference which kind of makes each one unique. There are just 7 in the world althoughwe're sure they could make more, for the right price.

4. Lamborghini Veneno ($4.5 million)

The biggest advantage with the Lamborghini Veneno is, when you drive it down the street, people will instantly know you're not in a regular Lamborghini. Why? It's the most future-looking Lamborghini there is.

It is based off the Aventador and has a top speed of 221 mph. There are 9 Veneno's in the world with 8 of them having being sold and 1 on display at the Lamborghini factory.

3. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita ($4.8 million)

Some would argue that this is the best-looking car on this list. We wouldn't argue too much with them. There are just two of them in the world and we're sure both owners are pretty happy with their 249 mph top speed purchases.

What separates the Trevita from regular CCX or CCXRs? Its diamond weave carbon fibre finish. At $4.8 million, we're sure it's worth it.

2. Mercedes-Benz Exelero ($8 million)

If you're looking for a luxury car that can easily go over 200 mph then look no further that the Mercedes-Benz Exelero. Manufactured by Maybach-Motorenbau this is the oldest car on this list.

The car is classified as “rare”, which pretty much means each one is custom-made and there's never going to be enough of them around for the price to drop.

1. Rolls-Royce Sweptail ($13 million)

The last car on this list and also the most expensive car in the world right now, the Sweptail is a car we crave to own. It has absolutely everything you could hope for in a luxury car and more. At a $13 million asking price, it better!

But, what else could this car have to deserve such a ludicrous price tag? The ultimate level of exclusivity, it's one-of-a-kind. You aren't going to see another anywhere in the world. Now that's something worth killing for!
